Sun Prairie East's 2026 girls tennis season ended in the WIAA subsectional round, where all of its singles players and doubles teams lost their opening matches.

The Cardinals played on familiar turf for both subsectionals and sectionals in the 2026 Wisconsin Interscholastic Athletic Association (WIAA) state tournament. Rival Sun Prairie West hosted subsectionals on Monday, Oct. 5.

The Wolves were also technically the host school for sectionals, held at the Nielsen Tennis Stadium on Thursday, Oct. 8.

Sun Prairie East junior Makena Lisowe competes in a home match against Sun Prairie West on Wednesday, Sept. 23.

Sun Prairie East did not get out of the subsectional portion of the state tournament. Of the eight teams in attendance, the Cardinals did not have a singles participant or doubles pair seeded higher than sixth. This led to all singles and doubles flights losing their opening matches on Monday, bringing the season to the close.

This also concluded the high school playing careers for Sun Prairie East's senior class of 2027. This group included Lauren Alt, Hattie Banks-George, Kalea Boyd, Izzy Britton, Sophia Elsberry-Tenebruso, Allison Giese, McKenna Hensen, Neely Jordan, Babette Loesch, Sarjo Sambou, Macayla Starke, and Vahnyah Vickerman Kelley.
