Four DeForest girls soccer players earned all-conference recognition following the program's first trip to the state tournament.
After engineering the deepest postseason run in program history one year prior in 2025, DeForest took it one step further in 2026.
For the first time in program history, DeForest earned a place to the Wisconsin Interscholastic Athletic Association (WIAA) state tournament, which came on the heels of a strong four-game postseason run.
While DeForest may have been seeded No. 7 in their sectional, DeForest certainly didn’t play like a seven seed.
In regionals, they defeated No. 10 seed Burlington 5-0 and No. 2 seed Waukesha West 1-0 before recording wins over No. 6 seed Monona Grove (4-3 OT) and No. 5 seed Edgewood (2-0) in sectionals to secure a spot at Uihlein Soccer Park in Milwaukee.
Recognized players
In the state semifinals, DeForest lost 1-0 to Wauwatosa East to conclude its season. DeForest finished its 2026 season with a 14-7-2 overall record, per MaxPreps.
In light of DeForest's success on the field this year, DeForest received plenty of postseason accolades, starting with All-Conference. Check out the list of Badger-Large All-Conference honorees for DeForest below, with four Norskies earning a spot.
Marissa Titel: First Team
Marissa Titel, senior midfielder/forward and captain, was the leader behind DeForest's attack. This year, she led DeForest in goals scored with nine — including four game-winning goals — while dishing five assists. Titel totaled a team-high 23 points this year and was also named the Team MVP.
Olivia Osborne: Second Team
While only a sophomore, defender/midfielder Olivia Osborne contributed on both sides of the field. This year, she scored three goals, dished three assists and even played a bit of goalkeeper, totaling two saves. Osborne was also named the Team MVP alongside Titel.
Alyssa Annen: Honorable Mention
Sophomore defender Alyssa Annen played an integral role inside the teeth of DeForest's stubborn defense. This year, DeForest’s defense posted 14 shutouts, three of which came in the playoffs. Offensively, Annen scored one goal this year. In light of her success, Annen was named the Team Defensive Player of the Year.
Violet Colwin: Honorable Mention
While only a freshman, midfielder/forward Violet Colwin proved to be a strong force on the attack for DeForest. This year, Colwin registered a team-high eight assists and scored four goals, good for 16 points total.
